La cámara lúcida

nota sobre la fotografía

Barthes, Roland

This book is not a treatise on photography as art, much less a story on the subject. In this case, Barthes launches into a sort of deciphering of the expressive century, of the artistic object, of the "work" understood as a mechanism that produces meaning. He takes as a starting point a few photographs, in order to discover "a new science for each object" and, from there, deduce "the universe without which photography would not exist", that "hallucination" that causes falsehood in the field of perception and truth in that of time.
