It's been six months since Anthony, Lucy and George survived a night in England's worst haunted house. Quill Kipps and his team continue to poke their noses into Lockwood Agency investigations. And finally, in a fit of rage, Anthony challenges his rival: the next time the two agencies compete on an assignment, the losers must admit defeat to the newspaper. Then, a new client hires the Lockwood Agency to be present at the excavation of the grave of Edmund Bickerstaff, a Victorian doctor who apparently tried to communicate with the dead. There a strange relic has been stolen and, apparently, it is highly dangerous.
