La caja mágica

La caja mágica

Jesse, F. Tennyson

Julia Almond, a Bovaryan heroine, has fantasized about love since she was a child: she has read many novels, seen many movies, nurtured many dreams; she has realized that "her status as her woman" of hers is "a very important and mysterious thing" and also the body, pleasure. She works at a London fashion store, L'Étrangère, where she is respected, but in her house she is denied the right to have a room of her own. Marrying a respectable widower who soon turns out to be possessive and jealous doesn't change things much. She will finally know her ecstasy and passion, with a young aviation mechanic seven years her junior, in an adventure in which the old masculine codes end up reappearing violently.
