La balada del norte, 1

Madrid, 1933. Tristán Valdivia, a journalist without a newspaper, an unsuccessful editor and a lover without illusion, leaves the capital to return to the north. There he awaits his father, the Marquis of Montecorvo. These are difficult times for the country, immersed in the convulsions of the Second Republic, and the old aristocrat must remain at the head of his particular fiefdom: the Northwest Mining Company. Luminous characters emerge from the blackness of the mining valleys of Asturias, and under the thunderous noise of the coal mines the whisper of an old song is heard. The old and new times collide brutally, testing the protagonist, soon the entire Humanity. This is the sound of La balada del norte.
