L'espia del Ritz

Rahola, Pilar

Barcelona, 1942. The city boils with thousands of people linked to the Nazi regime: members of the SS, of the Bergmaj, international spies, Italian fascists... And in the midst of that Barcelona of flags with the swastika, of executions in the Campo de la Bota and of extreme misery, a hotel called Ritz shines with its own light, where one day a man arrives who has crossed the Pyrenees on foot to save his life and that of his musicians. He will be able to play at the Ritz becoming the great musician of the 1940s in Franco's Barcelona. He is Jewish but nobody knows it. There are Nazis in the hotel and they play for them and they don't know it. The Falangists think he is a spy for the Russians and try to assassinate him. He survives, despite everything, and finally manages to be respected: his name is Bernard Hilda.
