Joana
Margarit, Joan
If what Joana's verses say is so intense, it's not just because of the terrible human experience behind it. I think this needs to be emphasized, because not having it in mind would mean belittling poetry, and not perceiving the effort of a poet who writes at a turning point in life. The desperate do not write, do nothing, or kill themselves. But Joana is a book of love, and love cannot coexist with despair, nor allow it to defeat her: "The pain that comes from you cannot be / a bad pain". That's why Joana is a book with a lot of pain, but it's not a sad book, because love always wins.
