Jesucristo, hijo de Dios y María
infancia y vida pública
Martín, Santiago
The Bible for Busy Laypeople is a collection that was born with the desire to help Catholics who want to have a base of biblical knowledge and do not have time to take courses in Theology. It is not a collection of speculative or specialist books. They collect the teaching of the Church and are faithful, therefore, to the magisterium. Although there is a technical approach to the different books reviewed, the main look is spirituality, because, as Saint-Exupéry said, the essential is invisible to the eyes and is only captured with the heart. For many years the figure of Jesus was not only known and admired, but also indisputable. What the Gospel tells about Him was the Word of God and that is how it had to be taken. Later, at the end of the 19th century and during the 20th century, within the revisionist context -what is known as "masters of suspicion"- the figure of Christ was also subjected to a profound and at times ruthless and even unscientific criticism. Today, with more serenity, we can approach the Lord to read the Gospels and know who Jesus of Nazareth really was, whom we, his followers, proclaim Son of God and Son of Mary.
