Italo Calvino, una ardilla en Einaudi

Clavería, Carlos

The indefatigable Italo Calvino would have turned one hundred years old on October 15, 2023 if the excessive effort involved in being, among other things, a "diligent editorial writer" had not destroyed him. The present volume is intended to be a "complete profile" of the meticulous editor and persevering friend that he was; wants to reconstruct the first steps of the writer Calvino, his sharp vision of the cultural industry and his way of working with the people around him, with special attention to the relationship with Cesare Pavese, who opened the doors of Einaudi to him, gave him the nickname "squirrel" and decisively marked, in life and after death, his way of exercising "the most discreet job in the world": that of editor.
