The potential of all children is regularly determined by a standardized measure: their intelligence quotient (IQ). If the score is high, the path to a golden future is through a higher level college. If the score is too low, the future passes through a public school with very limited prospects. The purpose? An improved society in which the costs of education are controlled as much as possible and where teachers focus on the most promising students. Elena Fairchild is a teacher at one of the elite schools, when her nine-year-old daughter fails a monthly test in which her iq comes out with a disastrously low result, she is immediately forced to leave her elite school to be taken to a public, located hundreds of miles away. As a teacher, Elena believed in that system of education, but now, as a mother whose daughter has left, Elena's perspective changes completely. the only thing she wants is her daughter back from her.
