Invencibles
Pérez-Foncea, J.
For decades, England has "sold" the defeat of our Spanish Armada in the English Channel as a great success for the Anglo-Saxons. In reality, the combat ended in a draw (the English had more casualties), in the context of a war that lasted 16 years and that, in the end, Spain won. A year later, the Spanish inflicted on their rivals in La Coruña and Lisbon an even greater defeat than that of the Invincible: 190 ships had theirs in 1589 to 130 ours in 1588, but both returned home with only 102.
