Hoy, como ayer

Today, as yesterday, it places us in the Italy of the Borgias, in the 16th century, and tells us about three months in the life of Niccolo Machiavelli, writer, philosopher and graduate. Niccolo, accompanied by his nephew Piero, will be sent to Imola to negotiate with César Borgia and defend Florence, his hometown. Both characters will exchange witty dialogues about ethics, morality, politics and their way of understanding life. Borgia will be the character on which Machiavelli will later be based to write The Prince. Parallel to the political intrigues, Machiavelli tries to seduce the wife of his host in Imola, a plot based on his comic play The Mandrake.
