Historia VIII-IX

Historia VIII-IX

Heródoto

Herodotus is the first prose writer with an extensive work preserved: his History, in nine books. He is also the founder of History as a literary genre and as an intellectual perspective, which makes him one of the best representatives of the golden age of the 5th century BC. With a direct and clear style, no one today doubts his amenity, his intelligence and his enormous capacity to collect, recount and criticize the most diverse facts. This is the fourth and last volume that culminates the work with the narration of the most outstanding events and battles of the Second Medical War, such as the battles of Salamis and Plataea.
