Historia económica de la felicidad

una nueva visión de la historia del mundo

Felice, Emanuele

Is there a relationship between economic development and happiness? In human history, from the appearance of the first hominids to the present day, there are three great revolutions that are both economic and cultural and that changed the way we produce, think and live. And they also changed the concept of happiness. After the cognitive revolution, with which symbolic thought was born and which allowed the hunter-gatherer tribes to set out to conquer the world, the agricultural revolution saw that happiness is beyond earthly desires and life. With the industrial revolution this seemed possible as a result of human policies and actions. Today, in the "global village" two ideas of happiness are confronted: one based on pleasure and the other ethical. They seem to be opposed, but they are not irreconcilable and perhaps a synthesis is possible.
