Helena

Helena

Ritsos, Yannis

Ritsos, one of the best voices in European lyric, created a series of monologues of exceptional subtlety, with which he manages to transfer the pathos of Greek tragedy to our days. In this piece, the poet gives voice to the old woman Helena, who examines her life letting the memories of those who have already left her move her, and by recreating the interiority of the mythological character she reveals her validity: Helena survives in so many other women of today . With this work we continue the publication of the author's dramatic soliloquies in Selma Ancira's version.
