Ireland, 1846. Kathleen and Michael love each other and secretly plan to leave their homeland, the humble and hungry Ireland, in search of a better life in the New World. But all her dreams are cut short when Michael is condemned as a rebel and banished to Australia. Pregnant Kathleen will be forced to marry a cattle dealer and migrate to New Zealand with him. Meanwhile, Michael, with the help of fearless Lizzie, will attempt to escape the penal colony to reunite with his first love.
