Glenn Ganges en el río de noche
Huizenga, Kevin
In The River at Night, Huizenga plunges into the depths of consciousness through the vicissitudes and digressions of its protagonist, Glenn Ganges. He sometimes goes back in time, as in criticizing the dotcom bubble of the late 1990s; other times, he changes point of view and dedicates himself to proposing techniques for falling asleep, while Glenn reflects on how geologists and productivity gurus perceive the passage of time, or talks about the pleasures and hardships of marriage. , when disappointments are suffered or the trust of the other is betrayed. Huizenga seems to build the story like a symphony: he lays down rhythms, constantly tackles new themes (which he then returns to again and again), adds and removes scenes. Ultimately, he contracts and stretches time.
