Gegants de gel
Benesiu, Joan
At the end of the year, around a table in the small bar Katowice, in the Argentinian city of Ushuaia, there are different characters who have arrived from all over the world. The writer, turned traveler, relates the events that happen to the various exiles anchored at the end of the world. A Parisian running away from his wealthy family, an Englishman running away from a family horror, a young Mexican studying chemistry, a circumspect and silent Chilean, the writer himself, who seems immersed in a search with unclear motives and, finally, a Polish woman, the owner of the bar. Close to this physical and also personal border geography, each will unravel their own story by working out a puzzle that ends up forming a beautiful tapestry where all the elements are intertwined around two recurring themes: the search for identity and the myth of the border.
