Polzin, Jackie
In an ordinary house in a simple Minnesota town, a young woman struggles to care for and keep her four chickens alive. For a year, during the brutal winter and suffocating summer, he will watch over his makeshift chicken coop and face tornadoes and predators, bad luck and the uncertainty of a future that is nothing like the one he dreamed of. Through her relationships with her energetic mother, her best friend -a peculiar real estate agent with a small child- and a husband as attentive as apparently absent, we will learn more about the story of the protagonist and the melancholy that surrounds her.
