But there are also novelties in these short texts: the appearance of the fantastic in various degrees and cases (e.g. Masilla, Loredo... ), and what seems to be the presence of autofiction in others (Splinters, Accept my hate, The cold ice cream parlor...). Gratitude, expressed in tributes to friends or characters from the literary world, is surely a pleasant key to this book, at times so given to Adamism and the absence of references. From the epigraph of his admired Nabokov to the dedications with names and surnames, a journey of admiration to the past is proposed from the independence of the present. And the title, of course, which refers to one of the author's permanent interests: quality management, but above all to the contemplation of life as a succession of losses, which configure a sentimental vision at the same time that without concessions of the literature and existence.
