Fotografía de verdad
notas de campo de la vida de un gran fotógrafo
McNally, Joe
The first thing Joe McNally did when he arrived in New York City in 1976 was work as a photocopy boy at the Daily News, "the wretched dog of the newsroom." He was on a miserable salary and living in a cheap hotel in Manhattan. Life was not glamorous. But thanks to his keen eye for photos and willingness to take (almost) any job he was offered, he jumped on the always-precarious tightrope of freelance photographers. Forty years later, he has stories and commissions to his credit for 'National Geographic', 'Time', 'LIFE', 'Sports Illustrated' and many more publications. He has visited almost 70 countries and received dozens of awards. In 'Real Photography', Joe McNally candidly shares stories, lessons and insights from his life as a photographer. This is not an instruction book that explains, for example, "what to do with the light", although it also includes instructional information. It's also not a look back at "the good old days", because they never really existed. This book is a set of candid "field notes" compiled over time, a kind of intimate behind-the-scenes look at one of the world's most renowned photographers, who has seen and done just about everything. He imagined a life and then photographed it. Here you will see some of those snapshots.
