Flores para Ariana

Ariana just turned fourteen, but she doesn't have much reason to celebrate. Hers, like that of thousands of other girls in her native Kabul, is a stolen childhood story. Of civil war, of fighting families, of the horror of the Taliban regime, of the denial of all kinds of freedom for the mere fact of being born a woman. How can someone in that situation not lose the will to live? But years later when Ariana, only sixteen years old, is raped by the man they have forced her to marry, she feels that a new strength to move on is born in her gut. An energy that looks to the future with the hope that never again, in her country, will a woman have to suffer the horror that she has suffered again.
