As the anniversary of Heligan Gardens approaches, Lexi and Ben are working tirelessly on a major exhibition to celebrate the event. The exhibition will consist of three parts: the first, dedicated to the origin of the gardens and the life of its founder, Henry Tremayne, is already ready, but the second part, focused on the hunters of exotic plants who in the 18th century contributed numerous specimens from places as far away as India and Nepal, and the third, destined for the years of the First World War and gardeners who participated in the fighting, are still undeveloped. In the Cornish Central Archives Lexi discovers valuable information about the provenance of the exotic plants found in Heligan and the mysterious story of a young man who was forced to leave Heligan hastily in 1815. It is about Avery, the son of the administrator of Cornwall. the property, who flees to India after a tragic bereavement and there joins a botanical expedition in Nepal, an adventure in which he will find love and put his life in danger.
