Fresh out of rehab for her past drug addiction, Mallory Quinn takes a job babysitting Ted and Caroline Maxwell. Mallory immediately loves her job, it gives her just the stability she was looking for. And she adores Teddy, a shy boy who goes everywhere with his sketchbook and his pencil. Her drawings show normal things: trees, rabbits, balloons... Well, and sometimes also a strange-looking woman, her imaginary friend. But one day something different appears in the notebook: a man who is dragging a body in the middle of a forest. Little by little, Teddy's drawings become more and more sinister and his stick figures turn into realistic illustrations, whose dexterity exceeds that of any five-year-old. It is then that Mallory begins to wonder not only about the content of the illustrations, but also about the author. Because what if it really isn't Teddy who's making them? What if it's... someone else?
