Esta sí tenemos que bailarla

López, Fernando J.

The party is even worse than they expected, so both Leyre and Diana soon leave the reunion of their old high school class, to which they don't even know why they have attended. They barely met in those years but, tired of the explosion of nineties nostalgia, both found in the need to share a taxi an excuse not to call it a night. Without direction or fixed intentions beyond postponing two decisions they do not want to make, the two end up wandering until dawn, in search of some deus ex machina that will allow them to believe that the present is not so far from the idyllic future that they were promised and that , at forty-something, continues to elude them. Written on stage from a workshop with its performers, This Yes We Have to Dance It by Nando López is a tragicomic and scoundrel play in which two women try to escape from themselves during the hours that a night contains. An acidic comedy full of rhythm -in the background the echo of Raffaella Carrà's songs resonates-, sharp dialogues and moments that go from the intimate to the explosive. A journey as honest as it is wild through bars and movie-loving roads in which its two protagonists share the early morning in turns with their doubts, their deceitful nostalgia and their desire to live -and drink- it all.
