Entre dos fuegos
Alba Blanes, Manuel
Entre dos fuegos (1928) is a popular drama. A weapon of cultural and ideological penetration. A libertarian plea in love and politics. Written by a representative of the people. And represented by the people. Therein lies his extraordinary literary strength. It is not a traditional work in the style of the quinteradas. Nor does he find parallels with the later Lorca theater, not even with the pedagogical actions of La Barraca. It is a unique piece within the popular and committed theater of the time, with few similar examples of social and political denunciation created by and for the people, which exudes courage for the time in which it is written and for the place where it is performed. The vital attitude of the author recalls the literary activism of the French revolutionaries of La Comuna (Jules Vallès or Émile Zola), the commitment of Blas Infante or Miguel Hernández. The manuscript was found in the Municipal Archive of Córdoba, it was edited for the first time in 2007 and represented eighty years later in the Ateneo Popular de Almodóvar del Río.
