From the origins of dance culture to sophisticated Detroit techno, the drug addiction hedonism of Chicago house, and the Bacanalian fervor of New York's garage, to the emergence of acid house and rave in the late UK. Eighties, born from the Balearic culture imported from Ibiza, from the proliferation of ecstasy pills and from the first illegal parties in industrial buildings, Reynolds realizes the explosion of a new type of hedonistic culture powered by drugs that will give rise to one of the great revolutions in the history of music. With its infinite ramifications, genres and sub-genres, rave culture mutates at the same speed with which the drugs that frequent each scene do so in the metabolism of its actors. Reynolds portrays with unusual intensity and brilliance some of the craziest and most disturbing musical movements of all time: Madchester, British hardcore, the rave scene of the Spiral Tribe environment, pirate radios, the advent of the jungle and its polyrhythmic frenzy, the particular and exacerbated American rave, the fury of the Belgian gabba, the drugged trip hop, the trance ... until reaching the generic dispersion of the postrave, whose stylistic variants have exploded in infinite and heteroclite directions, such as dubstep or EDM.
