Encuentro en Berlín, muerte en Ucrania
Ribas, Pepe
Ernesto Usabiaga is a young Chilean activist, the son of a tortured woman, who leaves the country after a professional disappointment. He settles in Berlin, the city that offers him the chance to start a new life and where he discovers the hidden family history. There he meets Maksim Kazantev, a Ukrainian Cossack connected to the oligarchs and the secret services, with whom Ernesto falls in love and who at the same time frightens him. This passionate relationship will be the beginning of the most convulsive, enlightening and decisive weeks in the lives of Ernesto and Maksim; Some lives that they will see in danger between the hidden threads that braid the gas pipelines and the plots of those who control them. The geopolitical chessboard of the former Soviet bloc, the drama of refugees due to war, family love and the search for individual and collective identity are the axes of this novel - both a fast-paced espionage story and a stark journey for the last hundred years of European and South American history - which invites us to recover memory and pursue reconciliation.
