A sixteen-year-old Jane Austen returns to Reading Abbey, where she studied, to direct a play. While she looks for inspiration for her texts, she experiences all kinds of love misunderstandings around ballroom dances, passionate letters, entanglements between suitors, family troubles and impossible relationships. Young Jane will face a world that demands a social role that clashes with her love for literature. Managing in a society structured around marriage, those months in Reading will forge her character as a woman and as a writer and inspire her to write her first great book: Sense and Sensibility.
