En defensa del capitalismo

The economy is closely related to the history of ideas. It is the result of human action (that is, culture) and the material conditions in which it develops, its nature. Starting from a pleasant overview of economics and economic thought from Prehistory to present-day China, going through the precursory utopias of modern anti-capitalism and the ideas of Adam Smith and Karl Marx, Martínez Gorriarán's conclusions are as interesting as the journey undertaken. Faced with the prevailing anti-capitalism in today's society, anchored in the repetition of a set of prejudices, commonplaces and simple fallacies typical of the most fashionable political correctness, this essay invites us to reflect on current society and its future, on the true nature of the human being as Homo oeconomicus and on the parallelism between economic, cultural and natural processes.
