Els déus inaccessibles
Riera, Miquel Àngel
The Inaccessible Gods, Catalan Literature National Award (1988), narrates the clandestine love of a rural priest for a young man, Alexis, through the clash between the religious oath and the force of passion. From the sincere intimacy of his personal diary, the protagonist describes the experience of falling in love with the tense appeal of unrequited desire. The priest, torn between his moral being and the passion that makes him feel guilty, makes love a refuge alien to reality.
