Two friends challenge each other to spend the night at the zoo with the sole company of the animals that live there. What they do not imagine is that animals at night have the ability to speak and they are going to share stories they can never forget. Rodari has fun building with these stories a chain of stories where, of course, the final story is skilfully linked to the first. At the same time, each story stands alone, independent of the others, in a simple but ingenious structure, where freedom and imagination are the only rule. The beautiful illustrations by Maite Mutuberria show the complexity of the life of these animals, divided between the comfort that living in the zoo implies and their desire to live in freedom.
