El visionario
Prix Maison Rouge, 2021
Quentin, Abel
At the beginning of the eighties, Jean Roscoff is a young left-wing academic with a promising career; almost forty years later, nobody remembers him. Now retired and recently divorced, he is trying to make a name for himself on the French cultural scene by writing a book about a virtually unknown American poet who died in an accident in France in the early 1960s. After its publication in a small publishing house, Roscoff's quiet life will turn upside down when what seemed like a harmless essay unleashes a controversy on social networks that will place him in the spotlight of public opinion.
