El violinista de la ronda de Dalt
Muñoz Carvajal, Bernardo
A young Italian violinist, who makes a living playing at wakes held in a Barcelona funeral parlor, is assassinated by twenty-one bullets inside a coffin. The ritual of the crime and the fact that it was perpetrated by Layla, a legendary hit man who only works for very powerful clients, suggest that something very murky surrounds the life of the musician. When detective Víctor Itóiz receives a strange story that describes in great detail what happened in the funeral home, written by a dangerous acquaintance from his recent past, he understands that, much to his regret, he is going to be forced to leave the placidity of the office where he works with his daughter Patricia, with the naive Paquita and with the shameless Juan de Dios, and investigate the crime. He will accept the order to settle old debts, for convenience and to try to understand what is hidden behind some events that will lead him to tour the always hectic Barcelona and to solve a mystery that will splash many people around him. The violinist from Ronda de Dalt -second installment by detective Víctor Itóiz- presents an addictive plot with colorful and endearing characters. Hilarious at times, tough at others, the novel goes beyond the detective genre due to its tenderness and compassion for the protagonists who inhabit it.
