El violín de fayenza

El violín de fayenza

Champfleury

Dalègre is an affable bon vivant from Nevers, where he lives happily until one day, tired of enjoying the worldly pleasures that this small provincial town in the center of France offers him, he decides to visit Paris. There he meets Gardilanne, a friend of his youth. Their lifestyles are night and day: while Dalègre is the life of all parties, Gardilanne is the epitome of frugality, leads an -excessively- ordered life, hardly has any contact with her peers and is not known to worry about any kind. However, despite his apparent imperturbability, a passion secretly consumes him: every day, whatever the weather, and with the avidity of a hunter, Gardilanne feverishly visits antique dealers and junk dealers in order to expand his collection of rare and valuable objects.
