El vestido de novia
Steel, Danielle
In the twenties the Deveraux family is one of the most important in San Francisco. In 1929 the wedding of her daughter, Eleanor, with Alexander Allen, a young and wealthy banker, becomes one of the social events of the year. On the happiest day of her life, the young Ella wears an exquisite lace dress with embroidered pearls, created by a Paris haute couture firm. However, shortly after the nuptials, Wall Street crashes and Eleanor and Alexander's lives change forever. Throughout the following decades, the Deveraux face challenging social, political, and economic changes. However, the beautiful wedding dress continues to unite the family. She goes from Eleanor to her daughter Charlotte, and later to Ruby and Kendall. A garment, turned into an heirloom, that is passed down through four generations of women, each with their own story to tell.
