El superviviente
Abad, Nacho
In June 2004 a brutal crime shocks Spain. He is known for "the triple crime of Burgos". At dawn, a murderer enters the Barrio family's home without making a sound. He has the keys to the house. Three of the four members of that family - father, mother and the youngest son - are surprised while they sleep and are viciously stabbed. With hardly any witnesses or clues, the investigators have to immerse themselves in the lives of the deceased to try to find the culprit. There are three fundamental questions that they have to answer: who could hate them so much? Who had the keys to the house? Who benefits from their death? Three years later, suspicions center on the survivor, Rodrigo, the eldest son of the Barrio family. He had saved his life because from Sunday to Thursday he slept in a boarding school fifty miles away from his home. He is arrested and admitted to a juvenile center, but hours later the judge releases him. Why? The father's part of the family trusts the young man's innocence, but the mother's is convinced of his guilt. Years have passed and the triple crime of Burgos remains unsolved. It is, without a doubt, one of the greatest mysteries in the criminal history of our country. Who was the author? The Survivor dives into the chronology of the events, narrates the police investigations, speaks with protagonists, details the official theses and brings to light new and unknown data until today.
