El socialismo puede llegar sólo en bicicleta
ensayos ecosocialistas
Riechmann, Jorge
Between 1950 and 1990 (approximately), capitalism wanted to show that it was compatible with democracy. Between 1990 and 2005 (approximately), capitalism wanted to show that it was compatible with sustainability. But, at the moment of truth, neither of these two compatibilities exists. And since the "exit" from the economic crisis that began in 2008, all masks have fallen... For this reason, it would seem that the question of ecosocialism is back on the debate table today, and with more urgency than ever. This current of thought and praxis speaks of democratizing, decommodifying, regulating the metabolism between society and nature, directing politics towards the common good and common goods. To get out of this "Century of the Great Test" that we are going through, we need a Marxism without productivism, and an environmentalism without illusions about supposed "green capitalisms". Jorge Riechmann, already involved in the translation of the Ecosocialist Manifesto, captures in this volume (now presented in a revised and expanded third edition) his reflection on ecosocialism.
