El silencio de las olas
Banzas, Ángela
Adela Roldán, married with a child, leads a peaceful family life except for a recurring nightmare that has disturbed her since she was just a child. In it she sees how a young woman is murdered in the presence of her youngest daughter. When she wakes up, she doesn't remember anything else, until one night she identifies the name of the town where everything happens: Vilar de Fontao, in Galicia. She decides to travel there and see if the house where the horrible crime takes place exists. What Adela does not know is that she, in reality, will undertake a journey of more than one hundred years that will take her from a pazo on the Costa da Morte to the city of Santiago de Compostela. A journey in which she will seek to discover the truth without knowing that she is approaching a secret that some are trying to reveal and that others want to preserve. Showcasing a style full of resonances and evocative images, Ángela Banzas masterfully constructs a novel that connects the history of several generations of women who must overcome adversity, betrayal, pain and fear, without ceasing to fight with passion for what they believe in in times marked by rural classism, hunger and war, the sides, mistrust and death.
