El señor de Peñallana

January 1677. Don Juan José de Austria, bastard son of Felipe IV, enters Madrid supported by the nobles, the army and the people, who see in him the liberator of Spain from the yoke of bad government. Thus, he takes the reins of power, becoming the most powerful man in the Hispanic monarchy, with the approval of his half-brother, King Carlos II. His iron hand and his desire for revenge fall on those who once dared to discredit him. Days later, a gentleman leaves the Court for Andalusian lands. He brings terrible news for Don Fernando de Vargas, Marquis of San Ginés, in relation to his son Rodrigo, the Count of Peñallana. The House of San Ginés will fall into disgrace and the young Rodrigo will be forced to start a dangerous escape.
