For many years he has been forced to stubbornly fight to regain his rightful home, but at last Uhtred of Bebbanburg has returned to Northumbria. And there, accompanied by his loyal band of warriors and with a new woman at his side, he feels safe and at peace. But in reality, danger lurks, and he soon realizes that he is not safe...
