El rey recibe
Mendoza, Eduardo
Barcelona, 1968. Rufo Batalla receives his first commission as a pen in a newspaper: to cover the wedding of a prince in exile with a beautiful lady from high society. Coincidences and misunderstandings lead him to befriend the prince, who entrusts him, among other things, with writing the chronicle of his peculiar history. The oppressive atmosphere of gray Francoist Spain will soon become too small for Rufo, who will travel to New York with little money, high hopes and the vague goal of doing something exciting with his life.Rufo Batalla will witness the social phenomena of the seventies, such as racial equality, feminism, the gay movement or the displacement of large cultural centers and the drift of culture towards new forms of expression, phenomena that largely of the present what is today. And it will record, not so much the facts as the way those who witnessed it lived it.
