El rey pequeño
Pérez Henares, Antonio
In the middle of the 12th century, after the early death of his father, the young Alfonso became king under the name of Alfonso VIII. His uncle, the King of León, sees in this an opportunity to have Castile under his control. But the powerful Lara family does not want this to happen, and to avoid it, they take the little monarch to the fortified town of Atienza, where an eight-year-old boy, Pedro, also lives, along with his grandmother Yosune. Over the years Pedro becomes Afonso's most faithful friend, who will grow determined to emulate his ancestors and magnify his kingdom. When they finally have to separate, Alfonso VIII will entrust him with a secret task: he will be his eyes and ears throughout Castile, to inform him of what the powerful hide from him.
