El remitente misterioso y otros relatos inéditos
Proust, Marcel
These eight exceptional stories by a young Marcel Proust have remained unpublished for more than a century. They were probably victims of their own censorship, since most of them stage homosexual desire -a theme that haunts his masterpiece, In Search of Lost Time- with excessive daring. Compiled in the 1950s by Bernard de Fallois, the legendary editor of Marcel Pagnol and Joël Dicker, and the author of the Proust before Proust essay, who devoted a large part of his life to the study of the writer's work, these stories elicit multiple readings. As Alan Pauls says in his prologue: "It is this hypersensitivity towards the malleable, and the willingness to always track it down, no matter where it leads us, the reason why these stories [...] capture us: we read Proust because he is our contemporary".
