Colette

Colette is twenty-two years old when a friend introduces her to Marco, a woman in her forties who lives modestly as a serialist. When the relationship between the young man and the mature woman grows closer, one night when they leaf through the lonely hearts section of a local newspaper together, they discover a letter from a young army lieutenant and decide that Marco will respond, which will start a passionate love story with an uncertain ending. To this brilliant and scathing story entitled "Le Képi", there are three more: "La mocita", "El lacre verde" and "Armande", where Colette portrays with her unmistakable mastery the uses of courtship with her own and other people's girls. the high society, or the tricks of mature women to obtain some reward after years of conjugal self-denial. In the four pieces collected in this volume, the author shows once again the style and sensitivity of her that made her one of the greatest writers of the 20th century.
