El problema de la consciencia

The problem of the relationship between the mind and the body/brain has been present in Western philosophical reflection since its origins, and at the epicenter of this problem, at least since modernity, is our conscious experience. How is it possible that a set of atoms organized in the form of neurons give rise to the type of experiences that we have when seeing a rose, smelling coffee or having an orgasm? Why does it seem that, no matter what scientific knowledge we accumulate about them, there is an essential aspect of conscious experiences (the way it feels to have them) that we only understand when we are in that kind of state? Here is the problem of consciousness. The objective of this book is to carefully present this problem and the tools that allow us to understand the current philosophical debate around it, to finally offer a new solution.
