Singer, Isaac Bashevis

Joseph Shapiro, a Polish Jew, fled his country in 1939. He wandered through Europe and ended up in Russia in 1945, where he met up with Celia, an old friend with whom he ended up marrying. In 1947, the marriage emigrates to the United States. Shapiro begins a new life and ends up earning a fortune from his real estate deals. However, he does not feel how with the values of the society that has welcomed him, in which idolatry of all kinds is paid and the truth seems to be despised. As a consequence of his discomfort, he begins a tireless search for himself and the roots of his culture and family, which will eventually lead him to settle in Israel.
