The Water Pact follows a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person drowns, and in Kerala water is everywhere. At the beginning of the 20th century, a twelve-year-old girl is sent by ship to marry a forty-year-old man whom she does not know. From then on, the young and future matriarch, known as Big Ammachi, will witness unthinkable changes: a story full of joy, tests of love and struggle in the face of adversity.
