Atlantis has been sustained for centuries on three promises. The princess will be seen only once a year. Mermaids and Atlanteans will fulfill a peace pact. The power that the Goddess granted them will belong only to the island. Elayne, as a princess of Atlantis, is well aware of the danger of breaking the first of those promises when she, after discovering the awful truth that lies behind the throne, decides to flee the palace. However, the princess is not the only one fleeing from her: Ori, a young man haunted by the death of her mother, tries to avenge her so as not to face the secrets he left behind her. Since his murder, he lives with other orphans in the Nest. There is Bell, a girl who only wants to recover the past that she does not remember... and to understand why a mermaid has started to approach her. The lives of Elayne, Ori and Bell will be intertwined in an ancient mystery, just at the moment when what will turn Atlantis into legend begins.
