El manuscrito de barro
García Jambrina, Luis
May 29, 1525. A pilgrim is assassinated shortly before reaching the city of Burgos; it is one more in a series of strange deaths that have been taking place in the different stages of the French Way. The archbishop of Santiago asks Fernando de Rojas to take charge of the investigation of the case. The famous investigator will have to walk the Camino de Santiago in pursuit of the criminals' footprints and for this he will have the help of Elías do Cebreiro, clergyman and archivist of the Compostela cathedral. On their journey they will meet all kinds of challenges and dangers, they will enter hidden and mysterious places and they will meet numerous travelers, each one with their secret in tow. Thanks to its careful historical setting, this novel shows an unpublished face of the Jacobean route in a time of great turbulence in which the pilgrimage is in question due to the angry attacks of Luther, the false pilgrims who take advantage of it and the rivalries between those who try to control it and make a profit.
