El lobo de Whitechapel
Biggi, I.
In the year 1888, Europe is reeling. Leo XIII, Pope of Rome, does not have many years left to live, and vultures are already flying over the Vatican awaiting the next conclave. Meanwhile, Monsignor Patrizi, pragmatic, visionary and ambitious, seeks to influence Anglican England to, from there, extend his tentacles in North America. Patrizi knows that he must play his cards right and get rid of Galimberti, his staunchest rival, and thus run as successor to the throne of Saint Peter. However, the British Empire is crumbling visibly. London is the best example of it; the city is divided into two: the wealthy West End, a vestige of the good old days, and the sick East End, where thousands of people are crammed into abject poverty. And not only that: a murderer, the first of his kind, walks the streets under cover of darkness disemboweling prostitutes and spreading terror. Rough, aggressive, and dangerous, he single-handedly is capable of not only disrupting Monsignor Patrizi's plans, but of demolishing the future of Christianity.
